Community resistance against women joining the work field drove Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and Department of Palestinian Affairs (DPA) to consult Imagine Group to launch JICA’s “Forsati” (My Chance) campaign that targets Palestinian women in refugee camps. A thorough research was conducted; results and recommendations were utilized to formulate social marketing strategies and behavioral change programs associated with a comprehensive communication plan. The developed strategies were translated into capacity building programs delivered by trainers to DPA staff working at training and employment centers in Hitteen and Souf camps.
Branding “Forsati” depended on a strong brand strategy which resulted in creating a special logo and corporate identity. Marketing collateral that showcased strong independent women working in jobs commonly believed to be male-only were created. Visual designs were carried out exclusively for TV and outdoor ads, and direct marketing materials.
Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) aims at contributing to the promotion of international cooperation as well as the sound development of Japanese and global economy by supporting the socioeconomic development, recovery, or economic stability of developing regions.
